چکیده

Energy micro-piles (EMPs) constitute a promising emerging technology, able to provide both energy and structural retrofitting existing buildings. Although number of studies have been published on the performance standard piles (EPs), bespoke analysis is required for EMPs due their different geometry peculiar design site constraints. In this work, parametric study carried out by means numerical Finite Element simulations complemented statistical analysis, aimed at identifying dominant parameters in maximizing EMP thermal efficiency. Two categories parameters, namely design-dependent site-dependent ones, are separately considered guidance practitioners detailed geothermal sizing overall feasibility assessment. The parameter space efficiently explored resorting Taguchi Experimental Design tools. Results show that criteria those EPs should be used EMPs. Notably latter, contrary former, diameter heat exchanger pipes emerges as one most important factors promoting efficiency, while being single easiest engineer. On other hand, U-pipes pile crucial EPs, it does not impact EMPs, constraints expected occurrence interferences. Among factors, large ground conductivity confirmed an feature ensure high performance, interesting insights obtained about role basement insulation long-term output.

Thermo-mechanical behaviour of energy piles

Energy piles are an effective and economic means of using geothermal energy resources for heating and cooling buildings, contributing to legislative requirements for renewable energy in new construction. While such piles have been used for around 25 years with no apparent detrimental effect, there is limited understanding of their thermo-mechanical behaviour. This paper synthesises the results ...

scour modeling piles of kambuzia industrial city bridge using hec-ras and artificial neural network

today, scouring is one of the important topics in the river and coastal engineering so that the most destruction in the bridges is occurred due to this phenomenon. whereas the bridges are assumed as the most important connecting structures in the communications roads in the country and their importance is doubled while floodwater, thus exact design and maintenance thereof is very crucial. f...

response articles: micro and macro analysis

the present study reports an analysis of response articles in four different disciplines in the social sciences, i.e., linguistics, english for specific purposes (esp), accounting, and psychology. the study has three phases: micro analysis, macro analysis, and e-mail interview. the results of the micro analysis indicate that a three-level linguistic pattern is used by the writers in order to cr...

Dynamic Analysis of Embankments Reinforced with Micro-Piles

Application of micro-piles to stabilize unstable slopes has been widely considered in recent years. A micro-pile is a small-diameter (typically less than 300 mm), drilled, and grouted as non-displacement pile that is typically reinforced. The main objective of this study is to evaluate the influence of the micro-pile group on increasing safety factor as well as finding the optimum position of m...

Offshore anchor piles under mooring forces: numerical modeling

A parametric study was carried out to study the behavior of offshore anchor piles under mooring forces in dense sand using a three dimensional (3-D) finite element model (FEM). The Mohr–Coulomb plastic model has been used to model the soil, and has been calibrated based on the centrifuge tests discussed in a Ph.D. thesis (published by Ramadan in 2011). The selection of model parameters and comp...
